Malavan FC defeated Sepahan, 2x3, on Thursday, on to matchday 9 of the Persian Gulf League. To this matchweek, José Morais's team came from a draw, and Mehdi Tartar's team came from two draws. Reza Jafari was the main player.
After 16 minutes, Reza Jafari opened the scoring for Malavan FC, from the penalty spot. With 29 minutes on the clock, Ramin Rezaeian fired home for Sepahan. After 43 minutes, Reza Jafari struck the second goal for Mehdi Tartar's team. With this strike, Reza Jafari reached 5th goals for the season. Shortly before the interval, Reza Asadi scored the second goal for José Morais's team.
In an unfortunate moment Milad Zakipour scored an own goal in time added on.
After the result Malavan FC are 3rd in the table, with 15 points, while Sepahan sit 8th place, with 12 points. With regard to the next fixture, Mehdi Tartar's team will play at home against Esteghlal Khuzestan, whilst José Morais's team will host Persepolis FC.
