Estudiantes de Mérida stumble to defeat against Palestino

Palestino thumped Estudiantes de Mérida, 1x5, on Thursday, in a match relating to the Grp.A of the Copa Sudamericana. Bryan Carrasco was the main player.

The opening goal was scored by Bryan Carrasco after 24 minutes, from the penalty spot. With 26 minutes on the clock, Bruno Barticciotto fired home Palestino second goal. In the 33rd minute, Luis Arenas struck for Estudiantes de Mérida. With 45 minutes already played, Alí Cañas's team saw Edison Penilla get sent off due to accumulation of yellows.

After 69 minutes, Bryan Carrasco doubled the lead for Pablo Sánchez's team. With 73 minutes on the clock, Palestino increased their lead with a goal from Agustín Farías. In an unfortunate moment José Doldán scored an own goal with 82 minutes on the clock.

In the next fixture, Palestino visit San Lorenzo, whilst Estudiantes de Mérida will host Fortaleza.
