Club Tijuana stumble to defeat against Toluca

Toluca edged out Club Tijuana, 3x1, on Sunday, in a game related to matchweek 7 of México Apertura. Coming into the contest, Toluca's team came from two draws, and Tijuana's team came from three wins.

Edgar López opened the score in the 24th minute. After 35 minutes, Carlos González fired home for Toluca, laid on by Leonardo Fernández .

After the break, Jean Meneses struck the second goal for Ignacio Ambríz's team, assisted by Andrés Mosquera. After 74 minutes, Club Tijuana saw Nicolás Díaz get sent off due to accumulation of yellows. In the 78th minute, Sebastián Saucedo came on. In the final minutes of the game, Camilo Sanvezzo scored the last goal of the match, from the penalty spot.

After the result Toluca are 2nd in the table, with 16 points, while Club Tijuana sit 7th place, with 10 points. With regard to the next fixture, Toluca's team will play away against Cruz Azul, while Tijuana's team will play at home against Puebla.
