KV Mechelen edged out Kortrijk, 1x4, on Saturday, on matchweek 8. In this competition, Karim Belhocine's team came from a win, and Danny Buijs's team came from two defeats. Rob Schoofs with a superb display.
The first goal was scored by Sandy Walsh with 38 minutes on the clock. In the 41st minute, Rob Schoofs doubled the lead for KV Mechelen.
After 53 minutes, Mechelen's team increased their lead with a goal from Geoffry Hairemans. In the 63rd minute, Didier Lamkel Zé fired home for Kortrijk, from the penalty spot. In the closing stages of the game, Rob Schoofs wrapped things up, laid on by Sandy Walsh. In the final minutes of the game, Jorge Hernández came on.
After the result KV Mechelen are 10th in the table, with 10 points, while Kortrijk sit 12th place, with 7 points. Next up, Mechelen's team will host OH Leuven, whilst Kortrijk's team will play away against Anderlecht.
