After 26 minutes, Gabri Veiga opened the scoring for Celta de Vigo. Shortly before the interval, Iago Aspas scored the second goal for Carlos Carvalhal's team, from the penalty spot.
With 82 minutes on the clock, Celta de Vigo extended their lead with a goal from Carles Pérez. José Gragera netted the last goal in the closing stages of the game.
After the result Celta de Vigo are 10th in the table, with 34 points, while Espanyol sit 16th place, with 27 points. In the next fixture, Carlos Carvalhal's team will play at home against Almería, whilst Diego Martínez's team visit Girona.
