FC Volendam edge past Excelsior

FC Volendam beat Excelsior in a close win on Sunday, 3x2, on matchweek 34. In this competition, Wim Jonk's team came from a defeat, and Marinus Dijkhuizen's team came from a win.

Daryl van Mieghem opened the score in the 10th minute. In an unlucky moment Stijn van Gassel scored an own goal in the 23rd minute. With 27 minutes on the clock, FC Volendam extended their lead with a goal from Francesco Antonucci.

After 56 minutes, Lazaros Lamprou fired home for Excelsior. Nikolas Agrafiotis netted the last goal after 78 minutes. In the closing stages of the game, Reda Kharchouch missed the spot-kick.

After the result FC Volendam are 14th in the table, with 36 points, while Excelsior sit 15th place, with 32 points.
