Miri ODonnell Strengthens Sporting

Sporting announced this Wednesday the arrival of Miri O'Donnell, former MVLA Soccer Club player, from the state of California. The 18-year-old strengthens the main team of the lionesses and signs until 2027.

The winger, who holds both Japanese and American nationality, expressed great excitement to the club's official media: "I am very excited to be here. Entering the locker room and seeing players I used to watch on TV was fascinating. Everything is fantastic, the coaches are amazing and the players were very welcoming and kind. I feel blessed."

"For me the most important thing is development, especially now that I am starting adult life. Talking to the coaches, what stood out the most was the fact that they value the development of the players, as well as the team. I think that was really the main reason why I joined Sporting CP," she replied when asked about her choice.

O'Donnell described herself as a "very technical" player who loves "beating opponents one-on-one." "Scoring goals, obviously, is one of the best parts of the game, and I also like to get involved in the attack and create scoring opportunities, besides being a challenging player. I like to see myself as a dangerous player," she highlighted.

The international U-17 and U-19 player concluded with a promise: "I promise to give 110% of myself, on and off the field, and to be a player that everyone can enjoy watching play."
