Bahia run out winners versus Fortaleza

Bahia triumphed over Fortaleza in a close win on Wednesday, 2x1, on to matchday 18 of the Brazil Serie A. Coming into the contest, Mano Menezes's team came from a win, and Marcone Montenegro's team came from two defeats.

The first goal of the game was scored by Juninho, through a header inside the box, after 24 minutes.

In the 65th minute, Bérgson fired home for Fortaleza, from a corner. Gilberto netted the last goal with 71 minutes on the clock from the penalty spot.

After the result Fortaleza are 9th in the table, with 25 points, while Bahia sit 11th place, with 22 points. In the next fixture, Mano Menezes's team visit Coritiba. Meanwhile, Marcone Montenegro's team will play at home against São Paulo.
