Arsenal edged out Newcastle, 2x0, on Saturday, in a match relating of the FA Cup. Both Mikel Arteta's team and Steve Bruce's team held their first game in the competition.
The first half came to an end without goals.
After 109 minutes, Emile Smith-Rowe opened the scoring for Arsenal, with a right-foot shot inside the penalty box. Pierre Aubameyang netted the last goal in the closing stages of the game with a left-foot shot.
With this result, Arsenal are through to the next round of the competition. In relation to forthcoming league matches, Mikel Arteta's team will play away against Southampton.
