Romania beat Hungary in a close win on Saturday, 1x2, in a match relating to the Grp.A of the European Championship U21. Alex Pascanu was decisive with 1 goal. In the starting XI there was Alexandru Matan.
In the 42nd minute, Hungary saw Adrian Szöke get sent off due to accumulation of yellows. The first half came to an end without goals.
In the 56th minute, András Csonka opened the scoring for Zoltan Gera's team, with a left-foot strike inside the penalty box, after a pass from László Deutsch. After 69 minutes, Alexandru Matan fired home for Romania, with a right-foot strike, after an assist provided by Andrei Ciobanu. Alex Pascanu scored the winning goal in the closing stages of the game from a corner. With 89 minutes on the clock, Alexandru Matan was subbed.
