FC Porto get the better of Moreirense

FC Porto edged out Moreirense in a close win on Monday, 1x2, in a game relating to matchweek 1. Both Rui Borges's team and the Dragões played their first game in the competition.

The first-half ended without any goals.

The first goal of the game was scored by Godfried Frimpong, after 51 minutes. With 67 minutes on the clock, Toni Martínez struck for FC Porto, with a right-foot strike inside the penalty box. Wendell netted the last goal after 74 minutes with a left-foot strike from outside the penalty box. With 90 minutes already on the clock, the Dragões saw defender get sent off due to accumulation of yellows.

After the result FC Porto are 7th in the table, with 3 points, while Moreirense sit 13th place, with 0 points. In their next fixture, Sérgio Conceição's team will host Farense, whilst Rui Borges's team will play away against FC Famalicão.
