Saprissa triumphed over Puntarenas FC in a win on Sunday, 1-3, in a game relating to matchweek 18. Coming into the contest, César Alpízar's team came from two defeats, and Hernán Medford's team came from a win.

After the result Saprissa are 2nd in the table, with 34 points, while Puntarenas FC sit 8th place, with 16 points. In relation to forthcoming league matches, Hernán Medford's team will play away against Liberia.
