      Imabari Secures Victory and Advances in J. League Cup, Setting Stage for Next Match

      Imabari overcame Tokushima Vortis in a close win on Wednesday, 2-1, in a match relating of the J. League Cup. Both Keiji Kuraishi's team and Kosaku Masuda's team held their first game in the competition.

      The first-half ended with a goalless draw.

      The opening goal was scored by Tomoki Hino after 54 minutes. Imabari scored their second goal of the game through Kosuke Fujioka, with 64 minutes on the clock. Kiyoshiro Tsuboi netted the last goal in the 72nd minute.

      With this result, Imabari are into the next round of the competition. With regard to the next fixture, Keiji Kuraishi's team will host Cerezo Osaka.
