Liverpool bounced back with a 2-0 win against Aston Villa at Anfield, marking Mohamed Salah's 250th goal for the club.
The game changed just before halftime when Villa's goalie Emiliano Martinez mistakenly cleared the ball to Salah, who easily scored from just outside the box.
Ryan Gravenberch, returning from an ankle injury, scored Liverpool's second in the 58th minute. His shot from outside the penalty area deflected off Pau Torres and misled Martinez.
Villa, seeking their fifth consecutive league win, had two close calls early on. Morgan Rogers hit the post at the five-minute mark, followed by Matty Cash's shot being tipped onto the bar by Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo both had chances before Salah's milestone goal gave Liverpool a solid lead into halftime.
Post-break, Liverpool controlled the game and limited Villa's opportunities. Substitutes Donyell Malen and Jadon Sancho tested Mamardashvili towards the end, but the Liverpool goalie secured a clean sheet.
This victory halted Liverpool's four-game losing streak in the league and moved them to third in the Premier League standings, seven points behind leaders Arsenal.
