Hajduk Split edged out NK Varazdin, 3-1, on Sunday, on to matchday 33 of the Croatia League. To this matchweek, Gonzalo García's team came from a draw, and Nikola Safaric's team came from a defeat.
The first goal of the game was scored by Aleksa Latkovic, after 21 minutes. In an unlucky moment Sven Lesjak scored an own goal in the 27th minute. Shortly before the interval, Rokas Pukstas fired home Hajduk Split second goal.
With 90 minutes already on the clock, Mario Mladenovski left his team with 10-man, after seeing a direct red card. In stoppage time, Abdoulie Sanyang wrapped things up.
After the result Hajduk Split are 2nd in the table, with 64 points, while NK Varazdin sit 3rd place, with 47 points. In their next fixture, Gonzalo García's team will play away against Dinamo Zagreb. Meanwhile, Nikola Safaric's team will play at home against NK Lokomotiva.
