The Rio Ave squad for the 2025/26 season is beginning to take shape with many new faces. Following the announcements of Mélissa Gomes, Sydney Shepherd, and Chardonnay Curran, the club from Vila do Conde has announced five more reinforcements.
Three of these new faces are well-known in Portuguese soccer. Ana Assucena leaves Racing Power and heads to the north of the country, similar to Inês Matos who played for Damaiense last season.
Also changing teams is Mafalda Nunes. After the announcement of her departure from FC Famalicão, she will have a new destination in Vila do Conde.
From the United States, two more reinforcements arrive. Nikole Solis and Rielee Fetty come from the American college championships. The former is a forward and the latter is a midfielder who can play as a 6 or 8.
Thus, the squad of João Marques is looking increasingly well-prepared for the new season, at a time when the team has already started its pre-season preparations.
