River Plate triumphed over Urawa Reds in a win on Tuesday, 3-1, in a match relating of the FIFA Club World Cup. Both Marcelo Gallardo's team and Maciej Skorza's team held their first game in the competition.

After the break, River Plate extended their lead with a goal from Sebastián Driussi through a header inside the box. With 58 minutes on the clock, Yusuke Matsuo fired home for Urawa Reds, from the penalty spot. After 73 minutes, Maximiliano Meza netted the final goal of the game, from a corner.
In the next fixture, River Plate will play against Monterrey, whilst Urawa Reds will play against Internazionale.
