Benfica triumphed over Sporting, 2x1, on Sunday, on matchday 11. To this matchweek, the encarnados came from a win, and Rúben Amorim's team came from two wins.
The first goal was scored by Viktor Gyökeres in the 45th minute, with a right-foot shot inside the penalty area.
After 50 minutes, Sporting saw Gonçalo Inácio get sent off due to accumulation of yellows. In time added on, João Neves fired home for Benfica, from a corner. Casper Tengstedt netted the last goal in the closing stages of the game with a right-foot strike.
After the result Benfica are 1st in the table, with 28 points, while Sporting sit 2nd place, with 28 points. With regard to the next fixture, the encarnados visit Moreirense, while the leões will host Gil Vicente.
