The young winger from Newell’s Old Boys, Mateo Silvetti (19 years old), has signed with Inter Miami until 2029, with an option to extend his contract until 2030.
The official announcement was made by the American club, which will integrate the forward into its U-22 plan once the transfer and visa procedures are completed.
He debuted with Newell’s in July 2024 and has played 37 matches with 6 goals and 2 assists in all competitions with the Rosario-based club.
As an U-20 international, he has played 3 matches and scored 1 goal for the Argentine Youth National Team, under the management of Javier Mascherano, who now recruits him at Inter Miami.
Silvetti will occupy a spot in MLS's U-22 program, aimed at promoting young talents.
His arrival adds to an already extensive Argentine presence in the pink squad that includes Lionel Messi, Rodrigo De Paul, Tadeo Allende, Óscar Ustari, Gonzalo Luján, and Marcelo Weigandt.
Newell’s publicly bid farewell to the young striker with a message of thanks for his commitment during his time in Rosario.
The club also confirmed that the transaction is underway and will be officially reported through its market reports.
