Monterrey defeated Pachuca, 4-1, on Sunday, in a match relating to the semi-finals of the Mexicana Clausura Feminino. Pachuca beat Amandine Miquel's team, 2-0, in the first leg of the tie.
Early in the game, Natalia Mauleón opened the scoring for Pachuca. In an unfortunate moment Osinachi Ohale scored an own goal with 37 minutes on the clock.
After 52 minutes, Valerie Vargas struck the second goal for Monterrey. After 59 minutes, Amandine Miquel's team increased their lead with a goal from Christina Burkenroad. In the 62nd minute, Lucía García scored the last goal of the match. With this strike, Lucía García reached 20th goals for the season.
With this result, Monterrey are through to the next round of the competition. In relation to forthcoming league matches, Amandine Miquel's team will play at home against Club América.
