The French Hugo Ekitiké is now donning red. This Wednesday, Liverpool and Eintracht Frankfurt confirmed an agreement for the forward to move to Anfield Road.
Ekitiké arrives as a major bet by Arne Slot for the season and will cost the Reds a fixed 80 million euros. The amount could even exceed 90 million euros depending on objectives set in the contract.
The 23-year-old Frenchman comes as an option for Liverpool's attack after an outstanding season in Frankfurt, scoring 22 goals and providing 12 assists in 48 games for Eintracht.
A product of Stade Reims, Ekitiké had a stint at PSG during the era of Messi, Mbappé, and Neymar. With limited opportunities in the team, he moved to Germany and had the best season of his career.
In this transfer window, it?s worth noting, the Reds have already brought in new faces like Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Giorgi Mamardashvili, and Florian Wirtz. The English champions are heavily investing in the market and are not likely to stop there: if the departure of Luís Díaz to Bayern is confirmed, Liverpool will still be looking for a winger in the market.
