Now it was Real Madrid's turn to announce the arrival of José Mourinho, through their usual official statement. The return was already known, but it has now been finalized.
The Spanish club announced that the Portuguese coach arrives after signing a contract valid until 2029 and will begin preseason on July 13.
Benfica had already confirmed his departure, even notifying the CMVM that the termination clause value for the coach had been reached by the merengues. That brings a €15 million windfall for the Eagles. At the Estádio da Luz, the successor has already been found: Marco Silva signed on Tuesday.
Mourinho moves on to what will be his second spell at Real Madrid, a club he already managed between 2010 and 2013, battling intensely with the famous Barcelona of Pep Guardiola.
