Chelsea Climbs to Second with Victory Over Wolves

Chelsea moved up to second in the Premier League as they eased to a 3-0 victory over bottom club Wolves at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues had just returned from their frustrating midweek Champions League trip to Azerbaijan, and it showed early as Wolves held firm in a stubborn first half.

Enzo Fernández and Alejandro Garnacho went close early, but Chelsea were unable to break through before the interval.

The hosts eventually clicked in the second half. Malo Gusto scored his first senior goal in the 51st minute, heading home a Garnacho cross to break the deadlock.

Moments later, substitute Estêvão Willian set up Joao Pedro, who smashed in his first home goal since August, doubling the lead. Pedro Neto added a third with a simple finish following a swift counter and Garnacho assist, sealing a comfortable win.

Enzo Maresca's side dominated possession throughout, restricting Wolves - temporarily managed by James Collins and Richard Walker - to very little attacking threat.

The win takes Chelsea to 20 points from 11 games, keeping them firmly in contention behind leaders Arsenal, while Wolves remain at the bottom with just two points as they prepare to appoint Rob Edwards as their new manager.
