Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé has firmly dismissed rumors that he could reduce his playing time in order to arrive ?fresh? for the 2026 World Cup.
?My knee is great, I?m 100 percent recovered. In Paris, I had the chance to get a very precise diagnosis. I can?t say the exact date of the diagnosis, but we were able to put together a plan so I can get back to my best level with Real Madrid and also for the World Cup. I know there has been a lot of speculation, and many false things were said, about surgery and about me not being able to play in the World Cup. That is complete nonsense. But that?s life, that?s the game ? people create rumors and feed off them,? he told reporters.
Mbappé also highlighted his experience at World Cups and how he has always prepared for them.
?There?s no debate. I?ve heard some people talking about it... I?ve played in two World Cups. I won one and reached the final in the other. I prepared for both of the last two World Cups in the best possible way: by playing, scoring goals, winning titles, and fighting until the very last minute for my club. And this year I?ll do the same to arrive in top form.?
The forward has already played 39 matches this season, scoring an impressive 43 goals and providing eight assists.
