Napoli edged out Liverpool in a win on Wednesday, 4x1, in a match relating to the Grp.A of the Champions League. Both Luciano Spalletti's team and Jürgen Klopp's team held their first game in the competition. Piotr Zielinski was the man of the match.
In the 5th minute, Piotr Zielinski opened the scoring for Napoli. After 18 minutes, Victor Osimhen advanced to the penalty, but Alisson Becker defended. With 31 minutes on the clock, Zambo Anguissa scored the second goal for Napoli's team, laid on by Piotr Zielinski. Shortly before the interval, Giovanni Simeone doubled the lead for Luciano Spalletti's team.
After 47 minutes, Napoli increased their lead with a goal from Piotr Zielinski. Luis Díaz netted the last goal in the 48th minute.
