Grasshoppers edged past St. Gallen

Grasshoppers beat St. Gallen, 3x2, on Thursday, in a game relating to mathweek 35. Before this matchday, Zürich's team came from a draw, and St. Gallen's team came from two defeats.

After 18 minutes, Noah Loosli opened the score for Grasshoppers, laid on by Dominik Schmid. With 45 minutes already played, Giotto Morandi doubled the lead for Giorgio Contini's team. 

In the 60th minute, Jordi Quintillà fired home for St. Gallen, from the penalty spot. With 81 minutes on the clock, Zürich's team increased their lead with a goal from Francis Momoh. It was his 5th goal of the season.  after 87 minutes, Kwadwo Duah wrapped things up, laid on by Julian von Moos.

After the result St. Gallen are 5th in the table, with 47 points, while Grasshoppers sit 7th place, with 40 points. In the next fixture, Giorgio Contini's team visit Young Boys. Meanwhile, Peter Zeidler's team will play at home against Lausanne-Sport.
