Victory of Lyon over Montpellier with a goal-fest

Lyon edged out Montpellier in a fantastic win on Saturday, 5x2, in the match for the 34th round. In this competition, both teams came from a defeat. Houssem Aouar made a great performance with 2 goals.

 Moussa Dembélé opened the score with 26 minutes on the clock. Moussa Dembélé is on a scoring streak of 3 consecutive games scoring. Shortly before the interval, Thiago Mendes strucked the second goal for Lyon. With 45 minutes already played, Elye Wahi struck for Montpellier, laid on by Téji Savanier. In the 45th minute, i fired home Montpellier's team's second goal, from the penalty spot.

With 63 minutes on the clock, Houssem Aouar struck for Lyon's team, assisted by Thiago Mendes. After 68 minutes, Karl Toko-Ekambi struck for Peter Bosz's team, laid on by Lucas Paquetá. After 85 minutes, Nicholas Gioacchini came on.  Houssem Aouar netted the last goal in stoppage time.

After the result Lyon is 8th in the table, 52 points, while Montpellier occupy 11th place, 42 points. In the next fixture, Lyon's team visit Marseille, whilst Montpellier's team will host Metz.
