The opening goal was scored by Jesus Gallardo after 17 minutes. In the 28th minute, Luis Romo doubled the lead for Monterrey. After 30 minutes, Carlos Rotondi fired home for Cruz Azul, assisted by Ignacio Rivero.
Ciudad de México's team scored their second goal of the game through Uriel Antuna, with 49 minutes on the clock, laid on by Carlos Rodríguez. After 66 minutes, Germán Berterame netted the final goal of the game.
After the result Monterrey are 1st in the table, with 28 points, while Cruz Azul sit 15th place, with 12 points. Next up, Monterrey's team visit Juárez. Meanwhile, Ciudad de México's team will play at home against Mazatlán.
