Academia Puerto Cabello overcame Defensor Sporting in a close win on Tuesday, 3x2, in a match relating of the Copa Libertadores. Both Noel Sanvicente's team and Martín Varini's team held their first game in the competition.
Antonio Romero opened the score early in the game. With 24 minutes on the clock, Facundo Bernal fired home for Defensor Sporting. After 36 minutes, Miku scored the second goal for Academia Puerto Cabello.
After 67 minutes, Octavio Rivero struck the second goal for Martín Varini's team, from the penalty spot. Michael Covea scored the winning goal in the final minutes of the game.
In the next fixture, Academia Puerto Cabello will play away against Defensor Sporting.
