FC Vizela lose out to Benfica

Benfica eased past FC Vizela, 6x1, on Sunday, in a game related to matchweek 22 of Primeira Liga. To this matchday, Roger Schmidt's team came from a draw, and Rubén de la Barrera's team came from a win. David Neres made a tremendous game.

The opening goal was scored by David Neres after 16 minutes, with a left-foot shot inside the penalty area. With 25 minutes on the clock, Benfica increased their lead with a goal from Nicolás Otamendi through a header. In the 30th minute, the encarnados extended their lead with a goal from Tiago Gouveia with a right-foot shot inside the penalty box. Shortly before the interval, David Neres doubled the lead for Roger Schmidt's team, with a left-foot strike inside the box. With 45 minutes already played, Benfica increased their lead with a goal from Rafa Silva with a right-foot strike inside the penalty box. With his 15th goal of the season.

After the break, Samuel Essende struck for FC Vizela, with a left-foot shot inside the penalty box. With 71 minutes on the clock, forward could have scored for Rubén de la Barrera's team, but Anatoliy Trubin has brilliantly saved the penalty. In the closing stages of the game, Marcos Leonardo wrapped things up, with a right-foot shot.

After the result Benfica are 1st in the table, with 55 points, while FC Vizela sit 18th place, with 16 points. In relation to forthcoming league matches, the encarnados will host Portimonense, whilst Rubén de la Barrera's team will play at home against Estoril Praia.
