Once Caldas defeat Alianza FC

Once Caldas overcame Alianza FC, 1-0, on Monday, relating to matchweek 13 of the Liga Colombiana Apertura. Coming into the contest, Hernan Herrera's team came from four wins, and Alianza FC came from a draw.

In the 19th minute, Once Caldas saw Jeider Riquett get a straight red card after 41 minutes, Sherman Cárdenas had a golden chance to score but missed the penalty. Billy Arce scored the winner shortly before the interval.

In the 68th minute, Michael Rangel wasted the chance to score. After seeing his second yellow card after 79 minutes, Sebastián Acosta was sent off and left Alianza FC with 10-man.

After the result Once Caldas are 5th in the table, with 24 points, while Alianza FC sit 17th place, with 12 points. With regard to the next fixture, Hernan Herrera's team will play away against Deportivo Pasto, whilst Alianza FC will play at home against Tolima.
