Pyunik get the better of West Armenia

Pyunik defeated West Armenia, 2-1, on Monday, on to matchday 23 of the Armenian League. In this competition, both teams came from a draw.

In the 39th minute, Julius David Ufuoma opened the scoring for West Armenia. After 42 minutes, Artak Dashyan struck for Pyunik.

Serges Déblé scored the winner with 77 minutes on the clock. After seeing his second yellow card in the final minutes of the game, Vagner Gonçalves was sent off and left Eghishe Melikyan's team with 10-man. With 90 minutes already on the clock, Pyunik saw Artak Grigoryan get sent off due to accumulation of yellows. In the closing stages of the game, James Santos saw a red card after receiving his second yellow in stoppage time, Albert Safaryan's team saw Hayk Sargsyan get sent off due to accumulation of yellows.

After the result Pyunik are 1st in the table, with 52 points, while West Armenia sit 10th place, with 18 points. In relation to forthcoming league matches, Eghishe Melikyan's team will play away against FC Van, whilst Albert Safaryan's team visit Urartu.
