Ajax edged out Rangers in a fantastic win on Wednesday, 4x0, in a match relating to the Grp.A of the Champions League. Both Alfred Schreuder's team and Giovanni van Bronckhorst's team held their first game in the competition. In the starting XI there was James Sands and Malik Tillman.
Edson Álvarez opened the score with 17 minutes on the clock. In the 32nd minute, Steven Berghuis fired home Ajax second goal, assisted by Mohammed Kudus. After 33 minutes, Amsterdam's team extended their lead with a goal from midfielder.
After the break, Malik Tillman was subbed. Steven Bergwijn netted the last goal with 80 minutes on the clock.
In the next fixture, Ajax will play away against Liverpool, whilst Rangers will play at home against Napoli.
